Anyone able to install the center caps on their FJ Cruiser 17" alloys with wheel spacers smaller than 2"? I know 2" will work. 1.5" should work on the front & I think 1.5" might work on the rear. 1.75" would work if I can find some. Best case scenario would be if the 1.5" will work (1.5" are readily available & I would prefer to use the smallest spacers necessary). Does anyone know for certain if 1.5" wheel spacers on the rear will allow the center caps to work to be installed?

Not sure but I'd like the answer to this as well. My new wheels and tires look good but I'd like to put my black caps on too. Here's a couple poser shots.

Nobody has the answer????? I am wanting to order my spacers soon. If nobody has the answer I am going to make a temporary spacer with a 2x6 just to see if the cap will fit. Since 2by's are really only 1.5" think this should give me the answer. Before someone says it, no I am not going to put any weight on the vehicle when I do this. Unless someone posts the answer first, I will post my finding in a couple days.

I have the 17" steels on my 80 and I do not recall the center caps fitting. I do not run spacers on mine, but I would gather that if you had them spaced out far enough out, then the covers might just fit.

We will know tomorrow. Stay tuned......

Sorry... I run 2" spacers, so mine do fit... but you've already determined that...

I have 1.5 inch spacers, my FJC caps wouldn't fit, sent them back.

1.625" is the minimum wheel spacer required for the fj cruiser wheel caps to fit on the rear of an fzj80. I am positive. I tried it today through trial and error. 1 9/16" actually worked but it was tight. 1 5/8" to be on the safe side. Now if I can just find a company that would be willing to make me some spacers for a reasonable price.

couldnt you buy a ready to go spacer a little too thick and just have a local machine shop grind them down??

Why don't you make the center caps deeper?

cut, weld, grind, paint.
