I'm rebuilding my center arm with the ccot kit recommended by fox.

The issue is these felt dust seals are monster thick. Did you guys cram the whole thing in there or cut them in half? Before installing it I've tried to push the felt in and tighen down the castle nut but I can't see how this is going to go together with these huge felts. Witrh the one on top no way would the cap ever sit on the center arm. I can pretty much guarantee that the po sis this previously with the SOR kit and because of those damn felts it was loose and full of grease.

Fox? what did you do?

well i see the tie rod on early trucks has the small threaded ends.

I have 2 ends from a later kit that won't work. I need to find the passenger side that will accept the drag link tre... Dealer? bueller?

I have used various center arm kits over the years on later model FJs and the included 'felt seals' (or whatever seals they provided) occasionally didn't fit or couldn't be made to. I either modified them or re-used the old seal, figuring that I wouldn't put enough miles on any of these trucks to really wear them out (assuming they were greased on occasion). Center arms don't see that much dirt/water unless you do really hard-core stuff, and they're easy enough to grease.

Thanks Steve!

I think I may trim my felt to fit..

x2. Usually they fit, but occasionally they don't.

Center arm in.. PITA to line up the keys and drop in the bushing.

On another note I got both the small end tre for the tie rod...

45046-60062 passenger Tie rod
45046-60H03 drivers drag link (It's actually the relay rod end)

HTH
