Ok......

Two years ago before I knew better, I bought a set of CCOT front fenders. I opened them up and they looked ok, but I never got to the stage where I was ready to mount them until tonight.

They don't even come close to fitting! There is a gap over 1/2" b/w the apron and the fender at the curves - the tops are not flat, and the curve on the ends is WAY wrong.

I am pissed that they would even sell something like this. It is going to take me HOURS to fix these things if I can even get them close, and I am quite sure that they will not take them back after this amount of time (if they ever would have??).

ok, settle down.........I'm happy with CCOT so far, so my question would be, if you're not the original owner, has it ever been wrecked so these body panels won't fit up? just wondering.

Does CCOT get them from the same supplier as SOR? If so, then they won't line up 100% no matter what, but it's not the end of the world. Trying to mate a 30+ year old vehicle to a new remanufactured part is not easy. Best you can do is try... Good luck!

CCOT wouldnt take them back at this point...and on items like that they charge a 20% restocking fee. I know this from experience.

Just sell them to a mudder who knows what they are getting and charge what you paid and then you pay for the shipping...

Thats what I did when I realized that the CCOT quarter panels wouldnt work for me.

As for fenders. I just ordered OEM Toyota from CDAN :D they are at my painters and get fresh skin tmrow!!:flipoff2:

even oem won't line up 100 percent. i mounted oem fenders on my 45 and they took quite a bit of finessing

my ccots took some effort to fit. passenger side has the gap you speak of but drivers ended up lining up nicely. a bit of redrilling and some good old fashioned forcing got em in. i'm not overly picky about having them look perfect as its a trail rig only. but what pisses me off is how thin the metal is. i bent one of them right away as i inadvertently skipped a little off the trail and kissed a young spruce tree. the old rusted out oem fenders would've taken a way bigger hit to bend. good luck with yours.

I'm a bit confused on this, my CCOT fenders were a direct bolt up. I'm wondering how these are being applied. I had my truck down to the frame so I built the front clip during various stages in the painting. I didn't have to use any body washers, or modification, which I'm used to doing on other cars. The CCOT fenders simply bolted right up, and they look great.

I took them out of the box and bolted them to the frame. Then I went to put the apron on the top and things are WAY out of whack.

I will take a picture tonight to show how bad they are.

I am 100% certain that I am not installing anything wrong, and I am certain that my aprons are not bent in any way. They are the originals - if that matters.

x2! You have to work with them.

OEM's are still available?

they are...but not for certain years...I have a 78 and I had to order the 83 models...because thats the oldest they still produce...luckily the 83 are the same as the prior years...only on the engine bay side there are a few extra holes for smog equip and various other "modern" things.
