CB wiring help

I'm putting in a CB and I've already tapped the 12v cig lighter wire a few times. I don't know much about wiring and fuses, but I need another 12v positive and negative wire to hook up the CB. Any suggestions on something easy to access? Can I tap into the cig lighter line again safely?
 
if you are permantly mounting it I would run a fused wire to the positive side of the battery and just ground the negative to the dash or to something that is metal on the body.
 
Consider power and ground both directly off of the battery. That is the best for radio performance.

I run a unswitched fuse block on Patch ('84 Mini) and will be doing that again on my 60 when I get to that part of the build. Can use one of the purpose built, like linked above, or can use one from a donor in the JY. If you opt for the JY route, have a look at the block under the hood of Mazda pick-ups.

Definetly use power from the battery and a good body ground.

Also have the antenna cut for either your favorite channel or 19 for a middle ground.

NLXTACY mounted under his hood on the passenger side fender. I would assume you wanted it mounted as close to the battery as possible.
 
Actually I have three now. One went under the pass seat. One went onto the cruise control box near the battery on the pass side and the last is in the rear although not all the way hooked up pending my drawer set up. Its on my LX but same idea:

You can use the radio fuse but I would fun a new wire from the battery. You can buy a fuse board so you could run one wire and have additional power for future stuff like NLXTACY's link.

I am going to have to trade with you. Electrical work for fabbing, bending or welding. Do you still need the Al welded?

I finally got my fog lights rigged up properly too. :)

The reality is you really need to take a look at what kind of power you need. Take account of all the lame power splices you have now and think about running them to a fuse panel. Once you have an idea of what your MAX power requirements are going to be, then you can decide what size of wire to run to the fuse panel and what type of protection for the fuse panel itself. There are tons of places to mount a fuse panel on the 60 series. Its harder on the 80.

And BTW, its not as daunting as my set up makes it seem. :p

Done, lots of little things I need done and I don't do metal. We'll talk more off line. BTW, glad you got the lights working. Hope I helped instead of hindered :D
