Can I use a drive thru car wash if I install a snorkel on my truck?

I figure the answer is no, but I wanted to see if anyone has had some experience with this.

I try to get my truck to a car wash at least once a week during the winter to keep the road salt off. With the first winter behind me my truck looks like if faired okay. I want to avoid having to wash the underbody once a week by hand if I can.

Yes. I do it all the time...

I have taken my cruiser to car wash places with no problems ;)

I usually stick my head out the moonroof, but I don't have a snorkel.

If you put a snorkel on your truck then I assume you wheel it and beat on it right? So why take it to a carwash? Is it a car

This truck is also my DD for now and the amount of road salt that is used on Michigan roads my truck would have some major cancer in a few years. Planning to keep it on the road more than a few years.

Tyler, Is this your weekly skull washing?

I wouldn't. If something in there grabbed the inlet and pulled the body out of the a-pillar, you'd be in a world of hurt. Plus, the car wash place would give you the nice "not our fault" talk.

Well if it's a touchless car wash, then you wouldn't have anything to worry about. However, I've found that the touchless car wash's are pretty worthless. I should think if you spin the head around backwards so it's not hanging out there, it would help your cause.

I've run my Cruiser through a brush car wash a couple of times since installing the snorkel. The first time I was in it, and it scaired the sh** out of me, but it didn't even wiggle. It's gone through a couple more times, and still tight as a drum. I now really prefer to hand wash as nothing else will get it as clean, and I've gotten chips from the car wash. So...depending on how tight your mounts are, it will probably be ok, but not something I would do very often if you can just hand wash it instead.
