At present, I'm carrying two canoes, upside on a pair of Rhino Rack crossbars that are lashed to my FR rack with some cam straps, with extra padding (pool noodle) added to the entire width of the rear crossbar, and some additional foam added to the gunwales of one of the boats to keep them from interfering from the rear hatch 'spoiler'. Carrying them right side up would remedy this problem, but that would be too much strain on the hull from the amount of cranking down it would require in order to make these things sit securely...

My problem is this; i need to be able to open the hatch without hitting the boats every time, it's too many moving parts for my liking, as well as too many possible points of failure, and pushing it forward enough to clear the lip results in too much boat overhang up front.

I've started to brainstorm mounting solutions that are tall enough to get the boat clear of the spoiler, but also simple to install/remove onto the t-slots of the rack.

I still need to take all the measurements to figure out what kind of height I need, but wanted to see if the community has any suggestions... pressure treated 6x6's, an inflatable childrens pool, I'll try anything once. :skull:

So you may want to remove the hatch spoiler. On a tlc it leaves an ok looking sheet metal top. On the LX570 it reveals a not so aesthetic join of the top glass and hatch, but it’s still weatherproof.

Well folks; I went REAL low tech/budget with it. Repurposed some pallets that were being thrown away by a solar company near me and I’ve gotta say I’m super pleased with how much I spent to make this work.

Will probably upgrade the wingnuts, but all in I spent about 6 dollars tops on hardware and a few hours measuring, hacking up pallets and reassembling. They are a tad wet at the moment, but as soon as they finish drying, I’ll be staining/sealing them with some leftover stain from a home project. Be

I've wondered if any trim came with a smaller spoiler. This is a very annoying problem.

Easy fix. I loosen the rear straps securing the canoes to the bar. Use a PFD as a pad between canoe and spoiler. Open the hatch. When I am done I just tighten the straps.

I do this every day.
