Who offers a better carpet kit for the $$, Spector or JT Outfitters? Both are about the
same price overall. Anyone have either one? Your opinions regarding quality and installation would be great.

Thanks!

I ordered one from JT and after about 3 weeks and no carpet I called them, they said they'd look into it. Had to call again. Found out a small company out in California makes them for JT "as needed" and JT could not get a hold of anyone at the company. I ended up ordering a carpet set from CCOT. I did the job, nothing impressive but I didn't expect "Berber" :)

I'd find out first if either "stock" the item you want.

The company in Cali is Chester&Herod auto carpet. I ordered my brown carpet direct from them, it was nice, and for aftermarket carpet it was a good fit. If you have never installed auto carpet before, I will tell you now it is a little more work than just laying it down. It takes time, and you need to be real sure before you make any cuts.

I got mine from JTO - custom color too - took 2 weeks and shipped direct from the man. in CA. It's going in with the new interior - so I'll post pictures when finished.

dropped the pre-molded SOR kit in our truck -- decent quality, not stellar nor as good as OEM, and it went in pretty easily. hardest part of the install was making quality cuts in all of the right places to accommodate brackets and mounting hardware for seats, etc...

if I was to do it all over again, I would use the OEM carpet as a template and custom cut some marine grade carpet to match -- higher quality and about the same amount of work in the end. less $$ too....

Sor

I am just installing SOR carpet in my BJ60. It's going to be tricky, almost wish I took the kit to an upholsterer to do the job as I am nervous making the cuts. SOR should offer fully pre cut kits for the price I just paid. They offer no tips/instructions either which pisses me off. the seat kits were great and came with some decent instructions . . .wish me luck!

I really wan't impressed with the carpet I got from them (also ordered through JTO). The fit wasn't good at all, and I've got big pink blotches (grey carpet) where I've spilled water or set something wet down. No plastic runners on the sides either, so I had to pull them off my factory carpet to get it somewher close to staying down on the edges. There are big gaps between my cargo carpet and the sides of the truck (the one carpet that didn't require a lot of cutting) and it's already very stained and the piles are coming undone.

I'm curious as to who makes the carpet for MAF, since I'll be looking to replace my carpet with some better stuff once I do up my manual transmission and new tcase shifters.

I still cannot understand why nobody is producing an OEM quality carpet kit for these trucks.

i'd avoid anything from jto for quality and service reasons, but i really don't think anyone makes a really top grade carpet for us.

i took mine to the ghetto where all the low riders hang out and got all my seats re-foamed, re-covered, and all new carpet for 175.00. it looks factory and works for me.
