Why not replace your screen?

Never heard of it. I've been hoping to go nav to non-nav but haven't found an easy place to grab all the needed parts. I've reached out to a couple of Mud'ers here but no success yet. You can replace the screen but it's still sub par under the best of circumstances. I'll have to check CarLinkLife out myself.

I’d go with the teyes screen. It’s a little bigger than the factory screen and looks more oem. There’sa huge post about the unit and its installation You might want to have a read. It’sa long read

You should be able to find a new screen, which will be as clear as it was when the truck was new.

My concern with the teyes option is the humming noise. Suppose that’s a risk here, as well.

Checked out the Carlinklife today. Looks decent but man, how many extra unused connectors are getting stuffed behind the new unit? A half dozen at least, which means it's made to be a "Universal" unit, That makes me nervous...You can find an install video on Youtube.

Looks decent, much better than those Tesla screens. One thing that’s prevented me from switching to the Teyes is HVAC controls. This has it, but a digitized version and a play on the newer RR vehicles. I’d need a heavy discount to buy this

How much are these screens ?
My screen has gone blank. Fuses ok but nothing on the screen blank
Any tips and advice and which replacement is the best as I still want all the original controls as well
Mine is a Uk spec. 2004 100 series
What causes the screen to go blank ?

If you still have some functions - radio still works, etc., Then it may be a cold solder joint I've heard is a problem. The screen going blank happened to my 04 LC so I sent it in for repair. They didn't tell me what was wrong with mine but it's been re-installed and working.

hi and thanks for getting in touch
By using the buttons I can operate the radio and cd player, rear blower. But without the screen you can’t control the AV , fan speed , temperature etc not to mention the obvious,…… to use the reversing camera
I’m going to pull it out and see if any power is going to screen first . Then remove all plugs and reattach with the batteries disconnected. Then hook everyone back up and see what happens
When looking for a replacement head unit I find it hard to tell if they’d be able to control the AC as I’ve heard that’s an issue also
I’d like a screen the same size just to fit in neatly and let me get back to enjoying my wife’s car !!

You could probably locate a replacement screen for your OEM unit. When i replaced my screen I had to disassemble the unit to be able to get the exact model number for the screen so the replacement screen would be compatible. The screen is more than likely manufactured by Toshiba
