I'm considering a 200lc or 570, that's what I want anyways. It will be the wife's family car so she wants more cargo space than our current lx470. Does the 570 in fact have more cargo capacity behind the third row than the 470? And if so how does it compare (cargo wise) to the Sequoia?

The 470 and 570 are very very similar. For instance people have pulled their 100-series drawers and put them in a 200-series and they basically fit perfectly. The 570 might have a tad more space but unless you're filling the trunk with water or sand the additional volume will be meaningless to you.

The Sequoia is cavernous. I actually did not like it but if you want more cargo space it's the way to go.

Sequoia wins hands down. If cargo space is your main criterion - Sequoia wins hands down.

Did I mention the Sequoia wins hands down?

Wait for the new Sequoia “it will win hands down”😜 over the current gen.

my LX470 flat fridge base platform was 1/2" too wide to fit between the wheel wells of my 08 LC200.

To me the overall cargo area is larger than my 470 and I was surprised the platform didn't fit

And the cargo capacities for the 2022 Sequoia:

The 200 series is only barely larger than the 100 series on the outside, but on the inside it's actually a little bit smaller than the 100 series. The 200 has a lot more going on in terms of features and related parts that take up space (center console fridge for example requires a bunch of AC lines), so it has slightly less cargo volume. I don't think most would notice, but there definitely isn't more room behind the second row seats. I am personally glad it didn't grow materially between generations because most vehicles have ballooned in size between the late 90s and today, and the 100/200 are already plenty big on shelf roads!

What kind of cargo space are your after? behind the third row? behind the second row? long objects? dense heavy objects?

I got a lot more cargo space by putting in an accessory shelf, so coats, pillows, blankets, chairs, that kind of stuff are now up by the headliner. This leaves more space and less clutter for box like items.

With a new sequoia right around the corner it would be worth a little wait if possible.

Are the third row seats in the 200 series bulkier than the 100 series seats? If so, that could account for some difference in capacity. Removing the third row seats obviously opens up a ton of space. But if space is the priority then a Sequoia is probably the better choice for sure and is still a Toyota.

Yes but surprisingly if you look the 2 row 570 specs were posted. Still smaller. Seats feel bigger and heavier but I never had them side by side between 470-570.

Doh - I missed that the 2 row specs were posted. :)

I did the exact same thing. On my phone today.

Interesting bit also is the seats arent 200 lbs themselves.
This must be air ducts, seatbelts, motors etc. Kind of considerable heft to it.
Wish i had the 2 row myself and as a bonus, they get a cargo shade roller.

In the OP the question is behind the 3rd row. The space behind the 3rd row is dismal. Best case 3-4 small backpacks. I only use the 3rd row a few times a year. If I regularly used the 3rd row no way I would pick a 200. It would be an AWD sienna or possibly a Sequoia, but most likely the van.

There isn't that much more space behind the Sequoia 3rd row according to brochures above. 18.9 cu.ft. vs 16.3 cu.ft (16% bigger i guess is better than nothing). A 2021 Tahoe has 25.5 by comparison.
