Thanks for the advice, everyone. Took my seats out of my '11 LX this morning with the help of a cheap set of trim tools from AutoZone. The shop manual illustrations showed the tabs and snaps and gave me confidence to pry at the right places.

I bought a 4' x 6' piece of indoor/outdoor carpet at Lowe's and cut to fit. Turned out OK, I think. I put some carpet tape on the bottom, but the true test will be whether or not it stays in place with the dog moving around and cargo being pulled in and out. If it doesn't work, I may buy some 1/4" rubber matting that Lowe's sells, sort of like some types of door mats, cut it to fit, and just lay it in there.

If anyone wants a scan of the shop manual showing the seat removal, PM me your email address.

You did exactly what I did (though mine is a LC). I cut it slightly wider than necessary...and they stuffed the edge under the outer edge material on the sides. If you cram the edges under the sides...all the way around to the side door area, it stays in place very well. I actually used a staple gun with long-ish staples for the back opening (where there was nothing to stuff it under) and angled the staples...alternating angles as I went across to discourage pulling it up. I's held very well for the last 5 months or so...

In fact...you even picked an identical color. Would wager it's the same stuff, as I think I did get it from Lowes.

Exactly. I loosened the tailgate sill and stuffed under there as well. The picture seems to show it uneven and not completely under the sill, but it is and looks good. I forgot to cut slits for the tie-down hooks! Other than that, glad I did it.

Thanks again!

Well dang it! Why didn't I think of that?! (Detach the tailgate thingy!). Oh well... Before long I'll have drawers back there anyway...but ya. The cheap Lowes/Home Depot rug thing it a pretty nice solution. And...if you ever destroy it? It just another $20 and a bit of fiddling to put a new one in.

That looks really clean! Nice job!

Here's an option that won't quite reach to the second row seats, but is almost wide enough and is made for custom trimming.
WeatherTech® AVM® Universal Trim to Fit Cargo Mat for Cars, SUV, CUV, minivan | WeatherTech.com

Sorry to bring up an older thread, but I just purchased my first 200 and am immediately going to remove the 3rd row. Has anyone purchased the Weathertech mat and if so, any pics? I am contemplating the carpet option from Lowes as well. Thanks for any help.

For those of you who did the Lowe's material, how thick is it? Should I put some padding underneath? The 3rd row seats are out and I may want to use the back for sleeping when camping. Also, did you just buy it at Lowe's or did you order it online?

I had to made about 100 of these for HSE purpose in some of my armored TLC 200's over in Iraq. The checker plate was 4mm thick so had enough meat on it you could add additional brackets to it later on. The idea was to place a spare tire, floor jack (trolly style) and cases of ammo. In case the vehicle was to flip over or hit IED those parts should not go flying through the cabin.

Do these covers work on the LX as well? I know LC is manual while the LX is power, but wondering if the latching systems are the same?
Latching system shouldn't affect it.. Covers are "open" at bottom edges as they very neatly zip around the seats to install. Fwiw, I've never had mine off since installation. Perhaps I'll remove the seats this summer but I really don't even notice them. Well worth the $$ either way imho.

Thanks for the response @Tripledave i love the covers and the protection it provides. I almost pulled the trigger but still not sure they’ll work on the lx. Does the landcruiser have a hook(s) on the rear of the third row that latch into the sides of the cargo area when the are folded up? See the pics above...
