Hello all,
I have a 78 FJ 40 that is having trouble idling. I replaced all of the suspect ignition parts and set the dwell and timing as best as possible. As long as I'm on the throttle it runs great but if I let it drop to an idle it quickly dies. The former owner converted the carb to a Rochester 2 barrel but I have a rebuilt Asian as well. I think the right thing to do is switch back to the stock Asian carb but I'm not sure if I have everything to do so. Could someone send me some pics of what the stock carb looks like installed? Is there a good instruction sheet somewhere? It currently has a throttle cable linkage but threads that I have read make it sound like the stock setup is more solid than that.
Any tips or suggestions would be great.
Thanks.
