My 1974 carburetor gasket has a tear in it right on the part from the accelerator pump plunger to outside. Will this cause a big issue? The gasket isn’t too old. Can I just put some gasket maker on it and seal it back up? Thanks!

A proper liquid gasket could last a long time. I wouldn’t suggest an rvt type.
Or you could cut one out from gasket material.
What liquid gasket do you recommend? I need to have it done in the next few days for a car show

Will this cause a big issue?
Probably not. If it's a small tear I'd just approximate the edges and screw the top on.
Get the correct gasket with a rebuild kit soon.

This would work well until you get the correct rebuild kit.
