Does anyone know where I can find a float for this carb? Specter does not carry and I can't find anywhere else on the internet. The float is made out of copper and has developed some hair line cracks that let the gas seep in. When it get too full it won't shut off my fuel and floods the carb. I am thinking about applying a thin coat of soder but don't know if it will stay.

solder will work, but you will probably need to clean the float really well, and may want to drill a very small hole first so that whatever gas is in there can be drained.

I may have a float, though, because I think I still have my old single throat sitting on a shelf somewhere. I will check tomorrow night.

Try a Toyota dealer. They sell parts for Toyotas. :D

It really is the float, I dunno why the catalog brings it up as "strainer".

Jim is correct, I got a few 2 years ago, took us forever to find the part # but they showed up

Thanks for the advice, I will check with the local Toyota Dealer. Lc69hunter, if you still have the part I will gladly pay for the part or the entire carb if you are willing to part with it. It seems that carb give me more problems than anything else. Now if I could just get my brake lights to work. Thanks.

Yeah, I snarfed up a couple when SOR had them two or three years ago. It's possible Mark from Marksoffroad has a few, but I bet he's keeping them for his rebuilds.

Right there Dave. No extra floats here. In fact, I've got one that needs soldering too.
