So my 60 is in need of some tunes. Dont know what the previous owner did but the current radio is ripped out and there is a spaghetti nest of wires for a hackjob car stereo/cb radio install.

Im planning on buying an entry level deck similar to this:
http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-DEH-X...id=1441934384&sr=8-11&keywords=usb+car+stereo

and im also adding rear speakers as the current setup only had 2 speakers in the front doors.

In all my projects ive always run just the deck and 4 speakers but I want to hook up an amp to this system. I dont plan on running a sub I just want the speakers I purchased to get the most use.

In my 69 bronco I had a mini amp that powered 4 speakers that was run off my ipod.

Any of you have experience with "mini amps" or "sound boosters"?

Looking for first hand experience and help with install.

Thanks!!

My very first stereo install on my 1980 Toyota Corona had one of these bad boys pushing a pair of Rockford Fosgate Series 1 10" subs lol

Back in the day, I thought it kicked ass for $40 bucks (booster and subs in a plywood box), but of course it's garbage by today's standards.

If you really want a tiny amp that puts out, checkout RF's line of boosted rail mini amps

I've installed several on motorcycles and they sound great :)

I plan on hiding one in my daily beater XB to push a stealth box under the passenger seat

The Rockford would be awesome for my truck. I just wish they made a 400W version. Looks like 300W is the largest 4-channel you can get for mini amps from Rockford and other companies. Though as far as physical size goes, it looks like Rockford's is by far the smallest.

Any "class D" amp should be small and efficient and generally run cooler.

Alpine makes a fantastic and small Class D>

I just bought a Rockford Fosgate Class D that will run 4 regular speakers and a sub at once. I believe it's 70 WPC for the mains, and 200 for the sub.
