As I was pondering some interior accessorizations, it occurred to me that perhaps it would be useful to have a thread that lists existent but unused captive nut locations in various 60 series models and years. I didn't find such a thread after searching (the info is scattered around in disparate threads) so it seems collecting the data in one spot would make it easier for folks to find.

So for example, FJ60's all (to my knowledge) have captive nuts above the driver side door for a grab handle. Some (all) have nuts for b-pillar handles. I believe later years have nuts for rear shoulder belts?

Anyone care to chime in with specific model and year data? Any super secret nut locations hiding somewhere?

From what @rjs78 found so far.

** US-Spec Vehicles Only **

A-Pillar Grab Handle
FJ60 – No handles or mounting holes, driver or passenger side
FJ62 – Driver side handle provided; mounting holes only on passenger side, sometimes just a hole in the pillar inner wall sheet metal, and sometimes threaded (weldnutted)

Above Driver Door Grab Handle
FJ60 and FJ62– No handles provided; threaded (weldnutted) mounting holes are behind the headliner

B-Pillar Grab Handle
FJ60 – No handles provided; threaded (weldnutted) mounting holes are behind the headliner on both driver and passenger side
FJ62 – Some have handles but most seem to not; threaded (weldnutted) mounting holes are behind the headliner on both driver and passenger side
