It's been more than a year since I have logged in here.

This trip has been a dream come true, 70 000 km's, 35 countries, 10 000 litres of diesel gone.

very nice - i can barely wait the 18 days till my very similar trip begins...

question for you tho - what kind of tires were those, and how absolutely necessary was the second spare?.....

thanks,

ian

Tires

Whe had 285 BFG MT's on the Land Cruiser and 265 BFG AT's on the trailer. The trailer tires almost made it home, the MT's did make it home, just! It was 70 000 km's though :steer:

Hi ya Jean. Great trip,I must finish off reading about it;) I like your Conqueror Compact trailer. I got to inspect them and meet the australian(well south african expats really) distributors at a recent 4wd and camping show.
Their trailers were attracting a lot of interest.:D

you can't be telling me that you NEVER needed the spare tho....right?....

this would be helpful to me as i have bfg A/T's on my 45 and only room for one spare...

Spares

I had one MT that developed deep cuts on the side wall in Ghana, this was after about 40 000 km's. But no punctures exept a spike into the tire in Ethiopia, this I repaired with a plug.

Wow 70,000 km's with only one flat-that is impressive!

Great shots- thanks for posting.
