Canvas Bed Cover for Long Bed '45's...??

Hey swamp thing, I'm excited about you trying this too. I've got too much 'junk in my trunk' for that kind of cover on my 45, but it doesn't mean I haven't thought about one before anyways.

As far as grommet spacing goes, I've gone back and forth. With my custom softtop on the 40, I discovered that if the attaching mechanism [strap] is reasonably close to the attachment point [footman loop] then once things warm up, the two points become too close to get the desired tension.

Soooo, I'm inclined to think that rather than spacing grommets directly above the bed hooks, you'd be better off with grommets about 6" either side of the hooks so that you can get a good pull on your [ropes, bungee, whatever]

Awsome top Ehsan...

The work on this top was outstanding, even slid forward and tied off the the headache rack opening the whole box.

Nice design, to bad he did not take templates and measurements.

I'm planning on making one like the TLC resto, but probably with 1 window on the side. The one I like is the one Rob (Radd Cruisers) had posted up a while back. I have a few pics of that one some where. I have a pretty good idea of the boat track hardware that was on that one on the bed and plan on copying that, few pics of that one.

Hopefully I'll get to that soon, but probably next winters project.

I had a slightly different take on it, made a full length top cap for mine, and I think I may make up some sides for it at some point, just may take me a while to get to it....
I had a soft top on my 40 for years, and always left the sides rolled up, except on logging roads, but hated the flapping of the roof portion. I quite like how this turned out so far.
was quick and cheap, kinda how I like it....;p
