You read wrong. I just walked into the trailer supply place and picked them up. They came with new, pre-greased bearings and everything.

Bruce, are the wheel studs metric and match the Toyota ones?

gb

Shrug. No idea. They came with lugnuts. Wait! Is the angle of the taper wrong for Toyota wheels or something?

I'm not positive, but pretty sure they are. If not the thread, at least the size of the lug nut was the same, as I just put the tire back on that I borrowed from Bruces old military trailer to use as a spare for my 42 and I used the same 21mm socket on the cruiser as I did on the trailer.
Cheers,
Deny

If they are id be curious to get a wheel stud and see if it will fit on my drums. I got my 6 bolt drums from Calgary years ago (as you likely recall). The wheel nuts are the same size, and wheels fit fine, but the wheel studs are a different thread and pitch then the Toyota wheel studs. I tried fitting a LC wheel stud in the drum but the press fit was the wrong size (don't recall if too big or too small). Not a big deal…was just looking for redundancy.

I read somewhere (don't remember where) that the issue was with the lugs and getting the nuts done up properly. it was either a hub centric vs lug centric problem or something with the lugs not being long enough. In hindsight I don't really need the trailer wheels to match my truck as long as I carry a spare iltis wheel.

Could be 1/2" studs or if metric 12mmx1.5 thread. Either of those could use 21mm socket on the lug nut.

You can not use hub centric wheels on these, as there is...well...no hub to be centric around. I had my hubcentic 80 series alloys machined to accept the metal inserts so the wheels are now all lug-centric.

Looks very nice. I wonder about this "I used it with mu landcruiser bj42". Maybe he just lent it to a friend for the pic?

He's a dealer or a guy with a helluva collection. He has that Jeep for sale as well as a 06 F350 and a 07 FJ Cruiser and a 100 series and a Ford focus and a Harley. Looks like a nice trailer though and a fair price. Cutting the tailgate in is a pain in the butt.

Greg, do you remember any details about this conversion? Cost? Shop? Did you have to supply the inserts?

Thanks, -Steve

Bring them to kal tire. I had them identify the race size and bearings and then went an ordered through lordco. Wished I kept the boxes.

I think there are part numbers in one of the trailer threads out there in the trailer section, which I have searched in the past. I bought a set at a local trailer shop which carries parts and they had them in stock. Haven't tried to replace them, so not sure if they work yet ;)
