Can one easily Mod a wireless keyboard to make it Bluetooth? (1 Viewer)

I've got a 5 or so years old Dell wireless keyboard and mouse combo. Works off a USB-based little emitter affair. Works great.

Anybody knows what kind of technology these things typically are? Any chance this is really bluetooth and could be used with a bluetooth laptop with some easy tweaking?

It could very well be Bluetooth already and the USB dongle is simply a Bluetooth dongle. If you have another Bluetooth enable device (PC, iPhone, etc) turn on the keyboard and see if the PC, etc "sees" it. If not, probably no dice,,,,

i do have a phone around and it never indicated anything. I imagine they would have hidden the keyboard to avoid conflicts, though.

There are many other frequencies in use for short range RF links.

Just find a blutooth one you like and get it. That'll be much cheaper in the long run.
