My record high!!!

Just kidding. I average 13-15. I claimed much higher numbers last year, I figured out my SG was set for a 3.7L V6.

Not to start a war, but picture above shows that many peoples' claim of mileage is bs. Average speed, 46 mph. That's not freeway driving. Or city driving. Totally unrealistic.

Not necessarily true.

When those Trip computers establish average speed I'm not sure what algorithm they use, but it usually makes no sense to me.

My LC, if I ran 20 miles with the cruise set at 45 would be in the 20-22 range, for that short period of course.

Pushing a box thru the air gets more expensive the faster the box goes.

Right. But you wouldn't then claim you get 20-22 mpg on the highway, would you?

I'm not sure what you're disputing- I think we're saying the same thing.

Not sure if we're saying the same thing or not.

I was on the Interstate the other day after getting my Ultra Gauge and was amazed at the mileage difference when I set the cruise on 55. I was a few other places and set it at 45 and it was more amazin'. Around 70, I'm getting 15.

I don't know how the guy with the trip meter did the test. I'm just saying that I drive past these whackjobs on the Interstate every once in a while on I-95 in sunny S. FL going 50 or so. Maybe they have a trip meter and feel the mileage is worth risking their life!

Now I'm confused... I don't know if your rig is stock, but if you have a lift and tires and you're getting 15mpg at a steady state 70mph- I'll give you top dollar for your rig. Best I've seen was 15.5 which was prob 40-45mph average with a lot of coasting.

Mine is totally stock. I've always got that since day one. I used to do that at about 78 mph, but I think it's down a little. Fill up on Interstate, go 300 miles and put 20 gallons in, regular as clockwork.

In an effort to improve on things, I removed the OEM roof rack and OEM spoiler, waiting to see how that does.

My stock 00' LX was pretty darn good at getting 16mpg on the highway. My 99' cruiser with the OME 2.5" lift And fair shake more miles (over 200k) and 33" tires only gets 13.5 on the highway with my family aboard.
