I cant install a bolt in the lower right hand mounting hole on my belview winch.
I know its less than ideal but this is all I can come up with.
I figure a pin at least would limit up, down & side to side movement.
and when the winch is pulling, the body of the winch will be pulled to face of the bumper by force of the pull.
I feel this is a viable solution. What do you think
winch.webp

did i fail at illustrating my dilema

Did i poorly communicate what i wanted to do?
To reiterate verbally.
I want install a stud in the bumper that will fit into the lower
right hand mounting hole of the Belview winch.
The winch will be held in by 5 bolts and one pin.

with the feed back I havent gotten I plan on executing this plan
next weeked. I guess I will find out on first use..;)

I'm not familiar with your winch, but with it mounted as you explain, will the stud be exposed? Could you just thread that stud and put a nut on it? Otherwise I would guess the question of getting away with it depends entirely on load.

Butt

if it is just a question of getting a nut on because space try welding a handle onto the nut to help you get it on and to stop it turning when you tighten it up and to prevent it from turning when you want to remove it.
With a pin it could be ok if the moter is trying to torque it's self onto that side while under tension, if it is trying to pull away under load then thes is nothing to stop it!!
maybe a photo would help.
