If I were to disassemble my floor jack, can the hydraulic piston be economically replaced?

Prolly just need the seal kit. I guess it depends what brand of jack and if you can do the work. Cheap jack and have somebody doing it, maybe not.

http://www.hyjacks.com used to sell rebuild kits for the bottle jacks. I tried one once and it worked pretty well. If they don't now, they may at least have leads for other sources.

Just found this on their site:

I think most of the floor hydraulic jacks can be rebuilt...sometimes its hard to find the right identification of the jack so you can then source the parts.

if somebody finds the ultimate jack parts place, kindly post. I have a hydraulic table I need to find seals for... generic chinese stuff

There's a guy that goes by Hiball on garagejournal, that explains w/pics on how to rebuild a jack. He tells you where to source parts too.

Yea!, thats got good info, but if you search "rebuild floor jack" there's a huge thread by him
