That does look good...

But no chub here, no not at all.:hillbilly:

Where did you get that brake union? I'm going to need one.

Autozone. I've had it a while so I don't have the tag, but it's Japanese double flared or something like that. They had lots of different lengths of pre-flared lines with ends, too. It's actually good US product with an OEM-like coating.

They let me go to the back and look.

We ran into sme technical difficulties with the paint booth and had to abort the mission. The second coat of paint started crinkling shortly after it was applied. Same paint as the coat before. I use this paint a lot and have never had this happen...

Been there, done that. You likely violated the directions about recoating within 1 hour or otherwise waiting until after 24. If you're in the window in between you can get crinkling.

But it's really looking good sitting on all four now.

That's exactly what happened, and knew it as soon as it crinkled. I've violated the 1hr/24hr directions before, but have not had this happen to me until now. This was close to 24 hours, which must be the critical end of the time window.

Ms Cam came in at 8:15 pm after filling scripts all day sweet as ever. Smiling. Says this wasn't bad at all.

Amazing woman.

See post #470...

...I've finally broken her spirit and have her thinking this is normal:D...

I should probably send some booze to the neighbors - actually I probably should have done that when I started!

Cam married up for sure, and i've never met his wife!

I rhink you are more likely to break a leaf spring than part of this suspension. You can make or buy stronger lower rear control arms. These like to bend if you drag them over rocks with the weight of the truck on them.

The frame swap is the *better* option, no question. The 80 frame is in every way better than the 60 frame. I have no idea which is easier though. For me, the frame swap wasn't really an option since I couldn't easily pull it off. I'm exactly one grueling month into this and am very close to being done.

Maybe @MANUCHAO could chime in on the frame swap.

I think the better option is the one you can pull off in the least amount of time with the least effort, and the least amount of $$
With that said...
I did my frame swap with help from another mud member, and that took about 6 months (with lots of 12 hrs days), and some 4k out of pocket (no sponsors here..:(:().
Swapping the whole frame was easier for me just cause I did not feel confident cutting and welding each part to the original frame...

Cameron and Co., are doing an awesome job at not just swapping/upgrading suspension parts, but also at documenting this whole process...
Great job !!!!
I specially like that you kept you fuel tank in place...:clap::clap:
I think this (coils suspension) is the best second upgrade after a V8....for many reasons....!!

Been :beer: your progress on this project and it's unreal to see how fast you guys are moving along !!
Cant wait to see the finish product !!!!

BTW the 80 suspension is stronger as it is all boxed in as supposed to being "C" channel, but with some welding you can make the 60's just as strong as any other frame....

Cheers !!!

Well??? Three days and no updates? Has this project stalled out, or is Mrs. Cam having you do something else?

Last I heard, Cam was going to Arkansas looking for hookers and blow. (And an axle).

True story-the first 2 people I ever met from Arkansas, both had TB. Weird.

Arkansas - go for the junkyard axles, stay for the hookers and blow.

I'll come back to Memphis as soon as I run out of money!

I lost all momentum when my espresso machine started leaking. It is rebuilt and going back together as we speak. Project updates soon to follow.
