The family went camping for a short but sweet camping trip to Ouray, CO. We had decent weather and saw the usual beautiful scenery. About the only trail we ran was Engineer Pass and was accompanied by a 100 series and a stock GMC Yukon. Those guys are from Expo Portal site who were up there for the week. The name of our campground is 4J+1+1 in the middle of Ouray and we were able to stroll everywhere from the campground. That's the only campground that's in Ouray otherwise there is the KOA about five miles North and other free campground everywhere else. There are also two other RV campground with no grass in the North end of town that have cabins as well. If you're tent camping, these are not for you!

Somewhere near Engineer Pass we came across a rather cool looking Toyota RV. They are from CO and were nice folks. The orginal rear axle broke due to the heavy rear end and a Dana 60 was placed. He was lamenting the fact that on the tight switchbacks, his front tires were lifting off the ground  His near term plans are to install a 4BT Cummins up front to weigh things down a bit and get more power and torque. Currently the Toyota is sporting a turbo 4 banger.

Coincidentally, the HDLR club was camping at the same campground so I snapped few pics. The bobtailed D1 was an interesting looking creature!

Nice trip! Keep the date stamp while the kids are small.
Did you come through Espanola? I saw a rig that looked like yours at a local restaurant.

I'm afraid not, we stayed on 550 all the way from Ouray to I-25 exchange. Agreed on the date stamp, although it's kinda ugly, it's nice to know the date when the pic was taken w/o having to take it down and flip it over. Assuming of course we can remember to write it on the back! I'll see if I can move it to a lower spot.

Great pictures.

That camper sure looks like it would make a nice transplant on to an 80.

Thanks,
Vince

If this was taken with a digital camera, the shooting date/time is usually saved in the "Exif" data. In most photo programs, just click on the picture and select properties to see this data. With Picasa, you can see this data to the right of the pic, where it says "more info". The date listed there was captured by the camera.

When you print, alot of the photo programs out there allow you to set the date on/off right before printing. The date is extracted from the exif data.
