Does anybody have a CAD file for a front bumper for an FZJ? I know nothing about CNC's, CAD files, etc. but my cousin told me if I can get a file then he can CNC plasma cut it out with 3/16" plate. Or is there somewhere that I'm not aware of that has files? Thanks.

I don't have a CNC plasma cutter, but if I did, I can't imagine just sending you the CAD file for a front bumper. Wouldn't that be ripping off the guy who came up with the design?

I guess if you can find a guy that is willing to send you their design, AND you like the way it looks, then go for it.

I'm talking about a bumper somebody has created themselves, not stole from a company. Come on, now!
There's a ton of people on here who've design or created/fabbed their own bumpers. I'm not even sure what a CAD file is but I know I can't make one!

Also, I don't mind paying a little for it if it's what I'm wanting.

I designed one a while ago, should still have the .dwg file. PM me your email if interested. More info here:

In all fairness, I don't know anything about the memberships or what they offer, either. I'm just trying to help.
I don't either and I was under the impression that all the animated ads that slow this site down to a slow crawl paid for it. Oilbrnr seems to jump on my s*** about anything he can.

I'd like the file so I can cut myself one. Acbroughton918@gmail.com

So I finally got the file to the guy with the CNC plasma. He said the 'drawing' isn't complete and needs to be completed before it can go to the CNC. Any of y'all CNC'ed with the file @SHREDwagon sent out? Thanks.

I work with CAD prints all the time.....one on other screen now
I bet if lines are there I can make sense of it.
I can even make a Detail Sheet.
Will have to see how it turns out.

CAM is the file that the machine (usually CNC) recognizes to make make the part from the drawing.
The way to do this is turn the CAD print into a PDF that can be shared.

Sooooo does this mean you have or haven't used Shreds file? I have no idea what your saying in that post. Either spellcheck kicked in hard core or your just talking about stuff I really don't underatand. Thanks.

Here is a CAD File:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/ry6voch1t9gldfq/Latch Print.pdf?dl=0

It has dimensions and lines to represent a part.
If the lines are in the correct place the dimensions can be added with correct program (AutoCAD)

I was offering to "fix" Shreds file.
I requested it in a PM. Weather it is shared is up to him.

Forget the CAM stuff I should not have added it.

Hey guys - I do not have access to CAD right now. The dwg file emailed was the same I used for water jetting and bending. Yes, with correct dimensions. Like I said - the pieces do not fit exactly like a puzzle. This was a prototype and will require some additional touching-up/cutting with a grinder. But hey, whaddya expect for free?

I was able to save $ in jetting by doing the CAD renderings myself based on my cardboard mock-up. It's already been reproduced by other MUD'ers who've had the time and skills (and CAD), with minimal issues. If the shop does not have CAD, you can download a free trial version from there site.

@ Hornd: go ahead if PDF's will help. Since when does CNC software not open CAD files?

@ LFD2037: If it doesn't work out, you can always get it jetted. Best of luck man.

edit - sick tube design!
