I’m normally done cabin air filter changes at 30,000 miles and they almost look new what are you guys finding is normal? I live in Florida maybe normal is 60,000 miles?

It is very easy to just take it out and look at it, and if it's clean run it longer.
There is no real set mileage, if you drive dusty dirt roads it needs to be changed out more often.
I did see on a schedule at 80,000km = 48,000 miles.
I run dirt roads weekly and change mine out at 15k and it was dusty. I'm also in FL.

I think I bought a box of 5 and they worked out to about $3 each.

I does keep the no-see-um's out and road dust.

the air cabin filter in my 2016 land cruiser only runs for 3 minutes before turning back off per the manual.

there is no way to keep the air filter engaged permanently. The convoluted Entune menu settings make it unlikely that the air cabin filter ever gets used.

An air cabin filter with a 3 minute maximum runtime buried in a menu grave should never need replacing.

I think you are confusing the micro-dust filter and the cabin filter. The cabin filter is in constant use regardless of whether the intake is set to fresh air or recirc. It’s located in the glove box.

@04UZJ100 I'm only aware of one filter (the one behind the glove box on US vehicles), and I've torn apart my vehicle pretty completely. Where is the micro-dust filter?

I'm sure there is a factory interval, but I think it may make sense to adjust for local conditions. If I lived in a very dusty place, or a place with massive pollen drops, I'd probably change it out more frequently. I tend to do mine once a year whether it needs it or not. I buy activated carbon filters on Amazon (somebody here recommended them).

Also, do not forget to put the system in recirculation mode before replacing the filter. Do not manually open the lid covering the filter!!! Lots of us have had our ventilation systems damaged by dealers failing to do this one simple step.

I use one of those K&N washable cabin filters. I just clean it every other oil change. (so about every 10k miles). So far its worked great, keeps the interior smelling nice :D
*edit* just noticed this is for 200 series. Disregard me please....

I have the K&N washable cabin filter and wash it out clean about every 2-3 months (I live in the dirty Denver air).
