Hey everyone I've read through a bunch of oil threads and have previously used Rotella T5 at the past few oil changes. I was about to try out Delco 400 15w40 due to the price difference. Question is does running diesel oil hurt the catalytic converter? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Trying to knock out an oil change before a camping trip this weekend

The short answer is no, not nowadays. You do need to be cautious to buy the diesel oil that has the API rating of SN for gas engines on the bottle. So if it says SN beside the CK for diesels, it’s ok to run it. Most major brands these days are SN rated for gas engines. I run Delo 400 in my Cummins and my 80. Cheap store brands will do the job just fine unless you are into extended oil change intervals.
