My FJ60 oil cooler is leeking water (rusted through the metal. I would like to just bypass the water lines around the cooler. I'm running synthetic oil. Any ideas if this will hurt anything?

I wouldnt refer to it as a bypass cooler. Just replace it with a better/bigger/newer one. Bypass usually means oil FILTER.

I think the question is (can I) "bypass (the) oil cooler?" IMO, yes you can plumb around it. You might look for a used replacement in the mean time.
