Buying a 60, need a mechanical checklist.

Hey guys,

I am purchasing my first cruiser and I am looking for an FJ60. Do any of you wonderful cruiser enthusiasts have some sort of vehicle inspection check list so that I know exactly what I am getting? I don't want to have buyers remourse to be my first experience with owning a cruiser.

Look at the FAQ sticky on this forum (https://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=13183). Also slee has a list of things to check for 80 and 100 series; much of those items cross over. And you should check out section 20 of the TLCFAQ on birfield.com. The only remorse you'll have is for not buying one sooner...

Not sure where you live, but there are a couple of nice looking 60s for sale in the classifieds section right now.
Follow MBB's advice and check out those links.
In addition, try to predict what you'll be doing with the Cruiser and what mods you'd like to eventually do to it (if any). Oftentimes, you can find a Cruiser for sale that has welcomed aftermarket upgrades (Old Man Emu shocks, a nice bullbar, a winch, larger tires) for basically no more money than what stock cruisers cost. Something to look for if you're going offroad (all those mods cost $$ to buy/install). Be patient, find something with lower miles and watch that rust. You won't regret getting one...

Actually there is a 60 in Everett just north of Seattle that I have made an offer on. Just waiting for the time to drive up there. It does have a lot of the after market stuff I wanted. SOA, 35" swampers, Custom rear bumper, rear detroit locker, It is brown without a front bumper, maybe you have seen it being up in that area?
