Posting in behalf of my uncle. He just got a 2008 GX470 in pristine condition with 80k miles on it. He replaced the shocks, springs and tires for a 2" lift and eliminated the electrically-controlled shocks.
He did not do a zero-point calibration on it after the suspension work.
Two weeks later and he's got all the warning lights, a P0500 code, and the dealer is saying his ECU is bad. But nothing is actually malfunctioning. Everything still works, other than the VSC/ABS now being disabled by the computer.
He replaced all the speed sensors on the wheels and transmission but no change.
Is this as simple as a zero-point calibration problem?
He's going to try and get it back from the dealer so I can poke around in it.
Thanks for any input.
