4" Hellcreek lift with the front springs flipped. Cut 2" off the rockers and made up some sliders (still need to tie them to the frame). Hi-lift mount. Installed the rollcage that I scored cheap. Installed the flares. I guess the spring flip did something with the steering because now the rims that were really close to hitting the TRE before rub now . Now ive gotta decide on what rims and tires quick so I can drive it.

It's looking great! It's come a long way, good job!

Just a few weeks from a non-running project to almost ready for the road. Gotta get the tire and wheel situation figured out first.

very nice.

Check your caster. You probably changed that when you flipped the springs. It would have moved the tre up/down and probably put it just close enough to rub now. It must have been really close before for this to cause it to rub now.

Looks good by the way. I need to come check it out sometime.

It was really close before. The rims are a bad set of chevy rims with the centers cut out for the Cruiser opening. I think I may end up having to use a little longer shackle in the back but will wait until the springs settle before I decide. It sits slightly nose up now. Give me a call anytime if you want to check it out. Im hoping to get it registered and on the road next week. :D

Trail Gear has good deals on wheel spacers. I had a rub issue with brake calipers hitting the wheels .I couldn't find wheels with the right back spacing when I swapped in a 79 axle with disc's on my 72 '40. I installed the 1.5" spacers. That fixed the issue and gave me a slightly wider stance which I like for the off camber trails. I'm running 15 x 8 rock crusher monster mod's with 35 x 12.50's.

These rims were on the truck. They look like chevy rims with the centers cut out to fit the cruiser hub. Im going with a set of stock steelies and hubcabs with either 34x10.5 Swamper LTB's or a set of Q78's(dont know if they are worth the $300 price difference). I may put on a small spacer just to widen it up a bit. I had a guy swing in yesterday asking me about the 40. He has 5!!! all restored. He is going to stop by one day and have me look at one (he is experiencing vibe issues).

mooker the LTB's may be back ordered.......... when I went to buy mine last month I was told they were on back order until atleast april; given this was the 16" rim size but I assume it went for all LTB's. That is why I ended up going with the Q78's

The LTB is on backorder. 4wheel parts has a full set and I can get a set local. There is also a local set with a few miles for sale that I think I am going to get. The Q78's are awesome but I am a little worried with my gearing for now. The price is also a good bit more. I think I can deal with the 1.5" shorter tire for $300+ less.

Wow....Just had my first Ralph Hayes/Rick experience! Called to price out the hubcaps and they are half the price of my local dealer. AND he knew what they were for. I will be ordering from him come payday next week!

good to hear........ the LTB's were my first choice as well; I was just in a pinch and needed tires fast. I think you will really like the LTB's in the mud you guys have down there

Got the stock rims last night along with some other parts....Thanks Belmont! I should be getting the tires early next week. Ive got a few other odds and ends to order Monday. It is coming along nicely. Im hoping to get it registered and take it out on the streets next week.

I think it was covered in another thread but I just realized this is mudhunters old 40. He had it at Tellico last summer, heres a pic from there. Thats a cool 40.

I still like the princess blue. Looks like a lot of fun, makes me really appreciate the fact that my cruiser just got painted. Man I wouldn't want to have to go through that again.

Jeremy

you're not much on prep work eigh :grinpimp:

can't wait to see how it turns out; I have never seen a rolled on paint job..... good luck

This was a last minute first coat. I am removing and taping everything up nice friday for the second coat. It was already 12 shades of blue and primer so nothing could hurt.
