Ok so here is my question - I have an ARB and have finally gotten around to listing my old bumper and brushguard locally for sale. My question is whether or not the brushguard would fit a 94 cruiser? I had a guy who was very interested but I cautioned him that the bumper on the 94 might be slightly different shape or size even though the frame was the same (I recall this from discussions here). I don't know if the bumper shape even matters as the guard bolts to the frame, but I didn't want to sell it to someone only for them to find out it doesn't fit right. Any input is appreciated.

Also somewhat unrelated I had a guy call who is selling a 97 white with lockers 112k, chauffer driven, never offroad etc - for his brother (some tv exec) he said he was willing to take 13k and was going to post it on EBay - I suggested he list it here as the price for a clean one with lockers (I have not actually seen it) sounded pretty good at least for the soCal area.

Thanks!

No idea on the bumper, but a '97 SoCal street cruiser for $13K, if in good condition almost sounds to good to be true. Did he mention mileage? It's VERY easy to rack up tons of miles here in SoCal.

There are three versions of the front bumper assembly.

91-2

93-4

95-7

The brackets and air grilles are the same as 95-97 80. The bumper proper and the ends are different.

I know for a fact that the rear bumpers are different between the LX and LC. However, I think the front bumpers are the same -- last time I did a quick visual, I don't recall noticing anything glaringly different.

If you're talking about fitting an ARB on a LC vs a LX, there's no diff there -- the aftermarket bumpers fit both the same.

Cdan - so the bumper is different, but would that mean the brushguard would not fit - in other words is the height and depth of the bumper much different from 93-94 vs 95-97? (I know you cannot see the brushguard for reference - I just don't know if the manufacturer would make different models unless the differences in bumper dimensions were significant)

Brentbba - the mileage is 112k (which the guy thought was high) I got the feeling his brother was wealthy and busy and disposing of the truck was more important than getting the last dollar out of it. He also said that it had a Thule 4 bike carrier and that is was in excellent condition except for some scratches on the front bumper. (and yeah it seemed like a good deal to me too - if what he said was true - I paid quite a bit more for mine last October)

Krich97,

Thats about 16K per year on the mileage, which is fairly normal for SoCal. Most here use 15K as a 'general rule of thumb' for SoCal vehicles.

If you were to fit a bolt-on brush guard it does make a difference between 91-94 and 95 up as the later bumper sits further away from the frame.

As I mentioned in the post above yours, the front bumper bar and ends ARE different part numbers than what an 80 uses.

However it may just be because the LX pieces are a paint-to-match as opposed to being provided in the finish color as is the case with the 80 series bumper.
