Hello.

I am the happy new owner of a Bump It Offroad belly skid plate. I hope to be able to afford the rest in the future.

I purchased this product because it has a much more reasonable price point for a guy with economics like mine.

I have not gotten to beat it up yet on the trails, but it appears to be incredible strong and well built. Every time there is a sound of rock on metal under the rig, my wife would cringe in fear. I'm not saying she shouldn't still cringe, but at least the transfer case is safe now.

I am a lousy painter, and have little to no vanity in how the underside of my rig looks. Allow me to beat you to it, "what a crappy paint job".

I hope to help other future buyers with the photos below, as well as a way to thank BIOR for their good business dealings with me. I am very happy with how it all went down and how the skid went up. Now I need to go find a nice rock garden to grind it on.

Now you see it (the transfer case)

Now you don't

Thanks, Mike, BIOR, and all the other threads that helped me come to this decision.

BumpIt does some nice stuff. I bought my front diff drop from him and love it.:bounce: I wish he would get his web site together though.
Mike are you out there? Do you hear me???
Your 100 series products links are all jacked up!:bang::bang:

looks like this belly plate does not replace the factory crossmember - do you have a side shot to show how much it hangs down? or do you have any before/after measurements on belly height?

It actually sits flush against the factory crossmember, so it is 1/4" lower than whats factory.

How much does the BIOR belly plate weigh?

Yeah, looks like it hangs pretty low.

This has already been answered, but look back at my picture. The three bolts you see in the middle attach to the crossmember where the old cheesy little skid used to. So it's right on the crossmember.

I didn't weight it, but I would guess it weighs maybe 60 lbs?

Mike's prices quoted to me for the individual pieces equal the same as the whole kit when added up. You don't get a discount for buying the kit. OR...better stated, you don't have to pay more if you can only piece them together one at a time. My cup is half FULL and my skids are 1/3 done.

I'll be making two more trips up to Mikes shop in the future.

The individual belly skid was $350 in raw steel.

Here's a tip for anyone buying BIOR skids or any skids which screw in from the bottom. Get these if you plan on wheeling in rocks. http://fourtreks.com/rock_slidder_washer.html

I replaced all my rounded hardware (three stock hex bolts at the crossmember and all my socket cap screws that came with the skids) and put these rock slider washers wherever a bolt was hanging off the skid. Trust me.. It's not fun when you have to cut and figure out how to back out a rounded hex head or socket cap.

I've tried calling email but no response...

Yes, but he's a one man show so don't expect Lexus service (or prices).
He's a good guy trying to keep overhead and BS to a minimum.

Interesting. But what keeps them from bashing into the bolt heads and then you have that much more material to cut through?

And (from the same website) this looks like a really bad idea. The intent is great, but to me it looks like it will either cause the vehicle to hang or turn into the ultimate debris shovel.

I wondered about the same thing but last weekend I was dragging a bit and they held up well. These washers are beefy. The website doesn't have good pictures. Here is what they look like with a reference.

Those are popular with 14 bolts because of their low hanging pinion and dont seem to have that problem.
