We have decided to sell our 68 FJ40. We bought the 40 about 6 years ago and was pretty much rust free rig when we bought it. The 40 has been rebuilt with all the rust removed and new metal replaced and sealed. The inside is coated with Rhino lining and is in good shape. It is also ways in the shop unless it can't be. I have a soft top and a custom bikini top made for the family cage. I do have the hard top but it is in pieces and not real sure if it is all there. The side and back are in good shape and sandblasted to bare metal. The fiberglass top is stored outside and unsure of condition. The doors are from a 74 FJ40 and are painted to match, the window regulators are stripped since I put new window felt in. I can't stand rattles. We are asking 12,500 OBO. You can PM me or email me fron questions. einspahr76@live.com. Here are some specs of the build, I am not going to list everything that has been done the list would be endless.

Body
-99% rust free
- painited with a single stage Limco paint with a flattening agent added. There are some chips and scrathces from trail rides but is in good shape
-front fenders trimmed down 3" to give it that 40 look but tucked in closer from the rocks
-Budbuilt corners in the rear with 4" LED tails counter sunk in to protect them. They are NOT there to hide rust the paint is just as good under there as the rest of body. There are coated with POR-15 on the inside and sparyed satin black on the outside so you can touch them up. There is a dent on PS froom a rock down the side.
-Metal tech familt cage tied to frame, shoulder belts in the front with harnesses in the back for the kids
-Metal tech front stinger and hoop with Warn 8000 pd winch. The front is removable.
-Auto meter gauges with fuel, mph, tach, temp, and oil. It has 4 small LED's in panel from blinkers, engine touble light, ignition power
-IDIDIT tilt steering colum with grant wheel
-new 12 circuit wiring harness done right (no wiring gremlins hate that worse than rattles)

Drivetrain
-TBI 305 millage unknown runs good
-rebuilt SM465
-Marlin 2.28 Toybox
-82 splitcase rebuil
-Griffin 4 core radiator with heavy duty fan clutch and 7 blade fan no overheating issues
-Howell fuel injection harness
-Howell fuel injection pump with stock tank used, never had a fuel problem no matter what the angle
-custom exhaust so it is up tight against frame
-Proffits SOA kit with 60 series springs, long AAL used with a single spring removed, flexes great
-FJ60 axles F/R rebuilt with 4.88's front locker Lockrite, rear is a Detroit(new)
-Proffits high steer with ARP studs
-Redneck Ram hydro steer with about 100 miles on rebuilt steering gear, has a PS cooler
-Bilstein shocks F/R with for towers
- 37" radial Pitbull Rockers on monster 8 wheels, they have 2.5BS to give it a great stance and stable on the rocks. Tires have some rock rash but still in great shape
I am no car salesman just trying to be honest in what is there. I have wheeled this rig in alot of places and it always gets me home and the next day I drive to to work. It is a head turner and really is a sharp 40. We have decied to get out of this for awhile and maybe build a buggy in the future. I just can't bring myself to bash it in the rocks like I thought I could. I have most all the receipts for the build just to scared to add them up. I have a build thread here on IH8MUD in the hardcore section under Flatrok40. Thanks Jim

This is truly the best of both worlds driver/ crawler and as clean as they come.

Nice!

If I had the money I would gladly take this off your hands. Great job on this. I have read both yours and Chicago's builds. You have done a great job.

Same here. Followed the build thread. Great stance IMO. A pic of this one has been saved on my phone for at least a year now. GLWS.

Bump. Testing.

Thanks guys. I spent about year planning it in my head trying to come up with the perfect 40 for me and it turned better than I could have imagined it. I hate to see it go but sometimes life has other plans.

Try this and see if it works. There are shots of the motor and under side. The pic of the ps side fire wall is where the engine harness comes into the glove box to the computer. The ds side fire wall is where the chasis harness goes into the fuse panel. It's all pretty much in wire loom. Its all new

Thanks Jim

Bump to the top. Tough market I guess figured this would be gone by now. Reduced to 12.5k wife would like to see it gone.
