Your trailer looks great. I can't wait to see the kitchen. I would really like to know where you got those door latches. I am working on my trailer and may want to use something like that.

The latches can be found here at Northern Tool. You have to buy the 3/4" pipe seperately from your local plumbing hardware store. I liked how it turned out as it is very solid and seals the door real well.

Thanks for the info. Some of those may work in my project. How wide is the fixed part of the latch. It looks like it may be close to one inch. The boxes for my trailer are made from 1x1. I could make a wider bracket work but ......

Would you be able to get a measurement and a closer pic sometime. Im still looking forward to seeing that kitchen as I am doing something similar.
Thanks

Unfortunately the fixed part of the latch is 1-1/4" wide. I also built the trailer with 1x1 tube. There is only one spot where I had to cut down the latch. It was at a 1" section in-between the two doors. I hope to have some pictures and details on how I did the slide-out kitchen. I have to find my good camera first.

Sorry this is a crappy cell phone pic.

Thanks for the pics and the info. Im going to pick one up to try it. It will be great on the rear door and may work in other areas.

What ever happened to the kitchen pics?

X2 ^^ This is the most ingenious build! Not to mention it's got a few years of use and is so well thought out!! Please finish!

It has been a while since I posted about this trailer. Since the last update, I have added a few minor modifications - mostly with the kitchen. At first, the slide out kitchen rode on large ball bearings found at Harbor Freight. Once pulled out, I built legs that would fold down to hold up the other end. This system worked, but came with a few headaches of leveling out the kitchen. Eventually I added heavy duty 4ft slides. that would lock once fully extended.

On the kitchen is the 10" deep SS sink and the stove top. I built the stove using burners from an old Camp Chef stove.

All painted up. It just drops right on to some tabs that I welded between the rails. Unfortunately this is not a lightweight solution. I would rather buy a Partner Steel stove that should be just about the right size. This stove works decent in the wind. Dutch ovens fit just right.

One big issue I am having is managing the three propane items: stove top, water heater, and lantern. There is not enough propane pressure to run them all at the same time. I will probably delete the lantern and go with LED lighting instead once I install the electrical system.
I also do not like the way I set up the water heater. Currently I have it swinging out after the kitchen is pulled out.

I will probably try to turn the heater around and hard mount it where it is at in the first picture. I am not too worried about the heat exhaust against the metal roof. I will give it a few inches of space to vent out. The faucet will go right next to the heater. Then I can move the sink closer to the trailer. In reality this sink is just too huge for what I need, but I got it for free. I would rather have something more shallow.

I added some leftover flooring to use as shelving. The porta-potty (for the ladies) and the cooler goes on the shelf above the slide out. It is accessed from the other side. The "chuck box" is still in its planning stages. I wanted to wait until I was sure of what I keep in the trailer.

Wow. So many great ideas. Just getting ready to build me a trailer and there is some excellent ideas here. Hope you don't mind if I incorporate some of these into my build...
