This is a thread for my FJ40 that I found on the Oklahoma/Arkansas Border. The guy said it was a 76 but is in fact a 78. It's pretty original wheels are not correct but that's about the only non original things I see/ have found and the guy I bought it from tagged it under something strange on Craigslist and that's how I found it for relatively cheap...considering the recent rise in popularity $3k. Of course this also included 5 new 33 inch cooper tires and advance adapter bell housing for a Chevy V8.
I purchased a rusty Blue 77 POS outside of Springfield, Mo. I'll sell it when I'm done but it's going to be a while... It is a rusty PIECE OF
. Real Bad. But it has somethings that will be swapped/salvaged with the 78.
So I am at the point where I need to document this stuff because I have the body off the frame and I have broken too many bolts to count. If it pics don't attach I will post later. I haven't figured out a name yet but as far as the build and "Plan" it has already turned to...

Considering I have never driven this great piece of SH.... Japanese engineering.
So my plans include:
Sandblasting
Chevy steering column.
Power Steering with FJ60 pump/box ect.
Old Man Emu Suspension 2.5 Lift
V8 Conversion
Stock looking inside
Rhino lined bottom and floor
But anyways, MUD is an excellent tool and my buddy NikP has already said the common answer to any question "Check the forum."
But I thought I would post some things I have learned...
#1 Don't believe anyone that says their cruiser is rust free...
#2 Always check the forum before you post a stupid question.
#3 The girlfriend doesn't understand that the project will never fix itself.
#4 PO's are idiots and it's amazing what they can do... (Not in a good way)
#5 New guys always get flipped off.
#6 Drink lots of
.
