Hey guys,

I've owned my 2005 GX470 Sport with KDSS (non-nav) since 2021, but have really neglected to do anything with it. This thread is to document my progress and to kinda motivate me to actually fulfill all the plans I have made for my GX!

So far I have replaced the factory radio with a Joying head unit and wired the backup camera. Wheels and tires are next! Any input and advice is appreciated!

The first thing I did was install a new Joying head unit. I still really like it and have had no issues. I also wired a rearview camera.

As far as the unit is concerned, I have no complaints. The screen is responsive and the wireless carplay works very well and connects quickly.

It is an ARB Safari Snorkel.

I'm in the middle of installing the same exact Joying unit into my GX. I've got it wired in and it works, but am only getting sound from the front speakers. The rear are not working. Did you experience this and if so, how did you fix it? Thanks!
