Howdy All,
A general observation here on the presence of some seam sealer from the Toyota factory on my 89 BJ74. It has kind of a U pressed on to the seam where the inner/outer reaer fender spot welds are (inside the wheel well). I noticed on a freinds 89 HJ61 he has this also, but on my Dads 88 HJ61 he doesent have this factory "seam sealer" and the rust/salt/sand is already doing a number. So...why do some have this extra precaution from factory....is it just 89 models where Toyota figured they might have a rust probelm here? Is this consistent with other 61/74/70/71 owners?
SOOOo.....what is this U shaped material? How do I get some? Do you press it on and then put a heat gun to it? I'm thinking of just painting some used gear oil/diesel mix in there though for sake of ease for now. Much apprecaited your feedback.
cheers,
johnny
