buggy springs

i have a soa, but my rear articulation pretty much stinks and i'm not ready to 3 link yet, has anyone tried buggy springs? and what kind of results have you had? this mod doesn't seem to be too in vogue anymore.....this is for a trail only rig so i'm not worried about how it will affect me on the highway etc.

something like this is what i've got in mind, not sure if i need the 2" square tube or not though, was thinking of just having the buggy spring flat against the frame.

IMO, flat against the frame is fine ...be sure you use a stiff/thick leaf tho, the buggy should only open at the limits of articulation so it minimizes it's effects on sidehilling and unloading

i have seen a few on the front but only one done in the rear, didnt look like the best idea to me. wouldnt you worry about unloading on steep grades?

Personally, I would address why your springs aren't flexing, before trying anything like those.. Cruiser springs work well!

Just do a wishbine and tj coils. With the buggy springs you got to 3 or 4 link it. I did the wish bone moved the rear back 22" and love it.

Eliptical set ups are either good or bad. As previously mentioned the ones that work the best are the ones that only come out at close to full flex. If it comes out earlier you can have serious issues with unloading on off camber and bouncing on step climbs.

So, would a limit strap in the middle of the axle help that much as far as the buggy set up goes?
or would you have a tipping effect from one corner to another?

personally i think they would still want to unload no matter what angle your sittig at.
off camber could make you load up your shorts

i once thought about this set up, not anymore.
i like my shorts clean.......for the most part
