the spotter i found doesn't mind financing alot of it, and doing the building and welding, as long as he gets to drive it on weekends. we keep whatever parts we paid for (i.e. i keep the locker if i bought it)
will be competing in legends class of australian series, but not to win, just doing a few rounds.
arya, already looked into it, and should get out of it cheap due to the miscelaneous bits both of us have lying around.
susp = 5 link front, probably 3 link rear. going to talk to a guy that sets up a heap of buggies about this in a week or so, airshocks right round... or in a pinch Coils from donor vehicle.
axles = hilux, or 60 series full floaters (leaning 60 series because we have tonnes of spares), upgraded hub studs in rear, heat treated cv's in front.
plastic race buckets.
rest of the shiznitz'll be from a range rover (ballpark figure 800 bucks for a drivable one)
rover alloy v8, zf auto, lt230 t case (full time, selectable center diff lock... i.e. "cheap" way to do front digs). running propaine. Rover power steering box (might tap for hydro assist depending on where the rules go with this)
full tube with skins duct taped on (dunno what skins yet

)
drivetrain option is pretty well proven for the $$$ out here.
