that is sweet!
take the plate off one your rigs fly out drive back as long as ya don`t drive like an ass NO problem:)

X2 that looks like a nice rig and you can't beat it for the money and a cheap SouthWest flight one way :D Hey if the illegals can come over here stock pile half a dozen toyotas filled with junk daisy chain them and drive them across the US back to the Mother Land you should be able to drive that home. Just think once you clear communist California your free and clear

... i am actually considering this now dangit...

Emailed the guy to see where on the east coast he is moving, says he cant afford to tow it but if I threw a little extra on it if he could afford it then.

just a little quick math, 1700 miles, assuming the thing gets 14 mpg with current fuel prices would cost my a little over 500 in fuel to get it home. I hate to go to the peoples republic of california. Afraid I catch the hippy disease.

John, why cant you find cool trucks i am interested in a little closer :P

Why does it have different gear ratios front and back. Looks pretty cool for the price.

I think it is an issue with there not being a 5.29 gearset for the dana 44. it is only about a 1% difference in wheel speed so on dirt it should be fine.

Its the Law of Good Deals, they are always far away and once you get it, one will come up cheaper a mile from your house.:bang:

I think its an awesome deal for the price and if the guy is willing to tow it closer you should jump on it for a reasonable price looks like the hard parts are done. I have only seen one T100 out on a trail so it has a cool factor to me.
Have him drop it off at The Round Up at Katemacey, or message George and Top Loader about transport they are coming from Cali to The Round Up.

the guy is headed to Delaware so not coming near here and he is already towing his wifes car with the moving truck so no go on getting it any closer by him.

it is tempting to fly out here and drive it back but I know even with all the illegals driving on interstate shady as hell and what not, I will be the one pulled over and thrown under a (New) Mexican jail.

Kinda thought about checking out that uship website off that shipping wars show, as long as it could be guaranteed none of those fools are the ones shipping it, especially the tool with the cat.

Or fly. Rent a truck and trailer and return in in la.

Wow, according to gasbuddy, using a worst case fuel economy for the dually and the behemoth (havent towed it enough to know for certain) my carbon footprint would weigh more than my dually.

EDIT: also one more time, I think it is really cool just how much talk goes on in our clubhouse. was browsing California clubhouses and they are more or less dead.

Would the seller let you keep the plates until you got home and then ship them to him? I did this with my cruiser when I bought it out of state.

I just hate to buy it sight unseen... McNutts website is quoting 977 before tax, so all in all it would be 4k for the truck. I just worry about things that allmost seem too good you know? 3 grand for the truck is almost just the cost of the wheels tires and engine.

thats why i was looking for an active club in the los Angeles area to see if someone could go put their eyes on it and hoping they didnt just buy it out from under me.

when i get home I think I am going to try and have a phone conversation with the guy, get some wider angle pictures of the truck, interior alll that fun stuff.

I am thinking I want something streetable and not just 100% toy like the 4runner has turned into. not sure if I shouldnt just look for something closer to stock and slightly less capable looking.

I just keep thinking how bad ass this thing would look rigged up like the tacoma they were working on on Extreme 4x4 the other day.

I know the stock Toyota trucks here are going for $3500 and up, so good luck finding something that nice around here. I will look around some more and see whats out there for you.

yeah, the two I was going look at this weekend when I get home are a 94 4runner for 4k and a 1995 t100 for 2500, but sounds like a rust bucket...

the way he describes it the cab corners actually have holes all the way through the metal... but it is a 3.4 5 speed was what got my attention.

X2 on what John said. You've met or have seen Georg at the SCC events you just don't recognize his name. He regularly attends the event. I'm sure Georg would be happy to go check it out for you if its within reason or refer you to someone that can and let you know what options you have as far as getting it to you. Georg works with a shipping company that delivered both Jason 's 40 he bought from Georg and that Scott now owns and also Mike Theriot's 70 series that made the trip from out West. He's a good guy that I'd trust to give you honest feedback.

Georg can be reached at 650-576-2023
