"And installed a 150 primary jet. Runs well, was a little lean with the 147 so I popped her in and she's been good so far"
What was your timing? Did this solve your pinging totally?
& love the build.

Never had pinging actually, but I also only run 91. Timing was 7* for the longest time, bumped to 10* with the vacuum line on the outer port (HAC) on vac advance. Runs very smooth up 3k RPMs and will go past with ease if needed.

Pretty much wrapped up! Need fj62 center vents and an ashtray to wrap up the parts list. For those curious, Once I have vents I’ll put a list together of what’s needed for swap, have the list almost complete. The 4500nex is a killer radio so far. Smooth wireless connection.

Looks killer. I like having the option of running a more modern radio with the features most new cars have standard. Add a back up camera and you’re basically driving a TRD Pro. ;)

Let me know if you have a hard time finding center vents, pretty sure I have two! I'll double check.

Thanks! @dogfishlake got me covered yesterday!

Waiting on my ashtray, vents, and fusebox cover. Used the gas door handle bracket to hold my choke. Almost perfect fit from factory but needed to open up the hole to fit exactly. Check engine light illuminates with choke.

Get the 70 series vents for the middle! You get the full adjustability. :) Its a straight and easy swap.

already ordered :)

Dash is now done, new pad, ashtray, fuse box cover and instrument bezel. I love it so much and the pioneer radio really made it all worth it. Once I’m back in town I’ll put the how-to together.

@mattressking, As always Nate, your thread is a wealth of info. I need to keep my eye on it as I’m digging the extras you’ve offered up. And that dash is nice, almost too nice. I always find seeing those dash screens look too modern and uppity for our old trucks. Kinda like putting a tutu on an elephant or makeup on a pig.
Hey what did you ever do w/ that headlight washer reservoir I gave you? You’d mentioned getting new ones made if it wasn’t too pricey.

Back when we were looking into getting a 60 Series Cruiser, I originally wanted a 60, but the interior of the 62 is what sold me. Not the EFI, DEFINITELY not the automatic, but the dash and power everything is what pulled us to the 62. The square headlights have admittedly grown on me.

I totally get this line of thought. I debated putting a screen in mine for a long time for the same reasons you state Felicity. I found a single DIN screen stereo that has a few modern conveniences (Bluetooth, etc.) and a smaller screen in attempt to balance out old and the new. I have to admit adding this to my truck has been one of the best upgrades done to it despite me being the purist I am with mine. Its still a bit 'lipstick on a pig' but I think is subtle enough that I have come to terms with the effect it has on originality. I love the manual nature of the 60 series in general, but Bluetooth streaming and handsfree calling sure are nice.
