Bright Lights do not work. (1 Viewer)

So here is the rundown- having trouble figuring this out- need help.

Bright lights do not work. I turned them on the other day and noticed "something". It wasn't exactly a flash but when they went on it's like they turned on then immediately off.

When low beams are on and I hit the brights- the fog lamps turn off but no brights.
No daytime running lamps either.

I did just install fog lamps and was trying to change the switch for that (installed lower left cluster) but wasn't able to replace and I put everything back and closed (not sure if connected but mention it anyway).

Checked the fuses under the hood (I think #55)- seems ok.

Any idea for other tests I can run?

Did you check all fuses or just that one? Sometimes one system is tied into another and some seemingly weird fuse will blow

Just a thought for something different I've noticed.

I switched my low beam bulbs to an IPF LED, a fun side effect is that now, when I flip on my high beams, my low beams stay on.

I actually love that and was going to make my truck do that anyway, so it was a win win.

But I thought the trucks lighting was of a simple switch, to turn on or off lights. It must not be, and go off of voltage in a relay or resistor somewhere.

That might be why it's hard to track down. This is all my theory, I could be completely wrong. I will get into the FSM and look through some electrical diagrams.

Any chance the automatic high beam switch is on (or some other selector) and you don't see the brights because it's daylight? Still sounds like a fuse problem but it's worth checking.

Indy- In my frustration with this issue I've checked the bright lights in day and night, standing in front of the truck while wifey controlled the beams.

Just to double-check, if the automatic high beam switch is turned on the brights would never come on if the sensor detects light. With that in mind, make sure the automatic high beam is turned off and/or explore that system for fuse problems. It sounds like you've already checked in all this but I thought I'd state it explicitly just in case.

My truck is a 2011- I don't think I have auto high beams--- Do I?

May sound silly, but have you checked the high beam bulbs to make sure they're good? That might explain why you don't have DRLs either. FWIW on my 14 the low beam stays on when I turn on high beams, but 13-15 have HID low beams and halogen high beams.

I just glanced through the 2011 manual and did not see the same functionality that I was referring to so it's unlikely that's the problem.
