For Sale: 1989 FJ62 - Asking $28,000 - It kills me to do it, but finally decided it's time to find a new home for this Cruiser. Affectionately known by my family as "Tex" because I bought it from a fellow MUD member who lives in Houston. Who knows, he may still be lurking around (and recognize the wood paneling) and pop in on this thread! Too many vehicles in the corral and this one rarely gets driven anymore. Now that it has a 5-speed I am sadly the only person in my family who can drive it! 2" lift, OME suspension and front stabilizer, interior in GREAT shape (minus small items mentioned below), Paint is good with the usual small rock chips on hood and rear quarters. Bluetooth stereo (mic not installed but I have it)

I purchased via MUD listing in January of '20 and it had around 310k miles, now up to 336k. As the previous owner told me, don't let the mileage scare you away. It runs strong and has been well cared for. NO RUST on frame or body. I've addressed everything that needed fixing while I have owned it (see list below). Most of the work was done by CS Automotive in Brentwood, TN, owner is a fellow LC enthusiast and owns several himself. The automatic tranny finally failed in '23 so I was able to upgrade to a new H55 5-speed. My buddy and LC lover Jason (NOSAJ on MUD) did all of the work and sourced parts from Valley Hybrids/Cruiser Brothers... Matt and George were a huge help. See thread below. We went ahead and de-smogged while we had it in his shop. It runs SO much stronger with the 5-speed and lack of emission nannies. Gearing is SO much better than auto tranny. I've driven it around 1k since the swap and have not had any issues.

Work done since '20
Speedometer cable
Reseal front axle knuckles and repack wheel bearings (right front knuckle is leaking again)
Replace Left front outer tire rod
Replaced brake hoses
Replaced cooling fan and clutch
Replaced coolant hoses
Replaced power steering pump and hoses
Replaced AC compressor and dryer
Power window motor and regulator assembly
Differential fluid exchange (at 331k miles)
Replaced power window master switch
H55 new Toyotal 5-speed conversion
Desmog

Issues/Imperfections
Carpet cutout hole visible from old auto tranny
Carpet stain on passenger rear carpet by door (see pic)
dome light bulb needs replacement
passenger rear door lock sporadically does not lock from master switch
Driver rear door handle sticks
Just took it in and it's about time to replace drive belt and right front axle knuckle is leaking/needs replacement/bearing re-packed - brake pads should probably be replaced at the same time as they are getting thin

I'm trying to decide whether to go ahead and do these repairs now or leave for new owner - open to negotiation. I may try to get some pics with better lighting but attaching these for now. I have several undercarriage picks as well.
