Alright - so I thought Id break down (a bit at a time) some of the social media trends to further enable spreading the good word about ONSC..

So for those of you that may be intimidated by newer trends Ill start with an easy one -

Pinterest
Its eye candy, pictures in a very easy to understand format. Android and IOS both have apps for it..(On android its free) Joining is free, and I believe it is by invitation only. (Forgive me, its been more than a year)

Everyone in this particular group seems absolutely gaga for Pigs. You log on to Pinterest and do a search for "FJ55" and this is what you get

I could create a board just for TIRES- and everytime I found an exterior website, or a photo on mud or even one I took a picture of in the parking lot of Lowes - all of them can be specifically 'pinned' to my newly created Tire Board. Then, there in one simple board are all the tires Im considering. Or if you are a super landcruiser nerd - you have a board where you pin old FJ40 ads...why? Because you can.

Pinterest is only as useful as the uploads it gets, and initially it was girly website for sharing recipes and crochet hacks etc :D Now guys have figured out that its an ad free way to simply look at pics of stuff they like.

So, create your board - post pics of your landcruiser - find pics of landcruisers you like- every pic on pinterest has 3 buttons that appear when you hover over.
1. Repin - this adds someone else's pic to your board and is considered flattery
2. Like - just like Facebook
3. Comment - well, duh.
None of these 3 actions will commit you to painfully dull updates like FB..its just pictures.

Lets say you've discovered the awesomeness that is Pinterest. You discover that this cool girl always pins stuff about landcruisers - and youd like to keep up with her - then you would "follow" her. This will make her pins appear on your homepage.

If you join - add pins! And be sure to add tags for ONSC, ih8mud - these tags help others find ONSC..

I'd be down for this, but ill be the first to admit that I am bad at updating social media sites.

It's not a big deal - its just a newer avenue to share your toyota love, with a lot less explanation..You dont have to update anything..Im just introducing it ..and suggesting if you use it, include the club name in your pic description uploads.

Its kind of like Instagram - very little commitment needed!!

I always thought they should create a "mantrist" I've looked around on my wive's pintrest and it is very cool. A real shoe in for men who are "visually" orientated. But it is full of girly crap and nothing I'd ever really look at. I am a big fan of the tattoo pages though

Do I have Deirdre to thank for introducing Andrea to Pintrest or was it the other way around. I can't quite remember which one of them got to it first, I just remember that all they did that thanksgiving weekend was play around on it.

I've developed an appreciation for it for recipes....... there are a ton of cruiser pics on there but I don't really use it for that as i've seen a million cruisers already :grinpimp:
