Has anyone used performance rotors from DBA or EBC? Something that is maybe slotted? I am thinking about going with DBA 4000xs rotors and EBC greenstuff pads. I know that the OEM rotors and 80 or 100 series pads are the preferred but I can't help but think there are some better stopping options out there.

The shop accused me of driving the 80 like a sports car when they looked at the rear brakes... :-/ lol

I'm currently running DBA slotted only and used to run the DBA slotted and drilled. I think they are both awesome but I prefer the slotted only because the slotted and drilled tended to accumulate mud and IH8MUD anywhere in my rotors! :D Hope that helps.

Ohh, I've used various performance pads (EBC/PBR/etc) but have pretty much come to the conclusion that OEM 100 series are all around best option out there. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the feedback and I agree on the drilled. I would just look for slotted. Interesting to hear the 100 series pads are your preference but that's easy

Yes as an "all around" preference I really think the 100 series pads are awesome. Keep in mind I think of pads similarly to tires; in other words they all have pros and cons and areas where one will outperform another. In my experience thus far the pads that really "bite the best" for pure braking performance (aka driving an 80 like a race car!) are PBR ceramics but they really require some moderate temperature soak to work well and that isn't practical for winter weather driving, wet weather driving, or anytime you aren't "heel-toeing" your accelerator pedal and brake pedal simultaneously (aka driving an 80 like a race car!) ! :D  :D

I run the powerstop, i beded them properly and WTF...different truck!

Well worth the $$ IMO

Also run full braided hose kit and i was too worried about mud, slotted only may happen, i can sell these to a dd guy, they are nice. Much easier to modulate

i have been running the pbr 4x4. pads front and rear the are great no dust to. how ever the dba rotors they warp the newest 4000's. lasted 3 months before they warped the older version 4000's lasted two years before they needed changed . not happy with the newer model 4000 .

I haven't ran either. I head the only downside to the DBA rotors is getting them resurfaced. Since they are supposedly harder or something to that effect. Someone mentioned that the shop has to cut a little bit at a time.

X2

Installed the Powerstop kit for all 4 corners (cross drilled/slotted rotors, ceramic pads) and WOW what a difference! There's actual pedal feel and modulation now. It brakes with authority on the freeway now, compared to the Fred Flintstone b.s. from before.

Found most of my hoses were cracked/swollen, so I ordered up a set of braided hoses from Man-a-fre. The website said the kit was in stock and they took my money, only to get an email two days later saying it was back ordered and would ship in a couple days. Been over a week now without a word (grumble grumble).

The braided hoses do make a diff, i sell them in my business and everyone agrees, they give a firmer pedal due to not flexing and balooning like rubber plus they hold up longer! Good use of $$$ there!

Have a full set of hoses for a 97 in stock? :-D

I just sell Muscle/Classic car parts, i got my kit from Slee, did all 7 Lines!
