Can I use a clutch master cyl as a brake master cyl?
The reason is to save some space and I want to use the clutch cylinder as one wheel brake. So this cylinder will only be pushing one wheel cylinder. I want to be able to have independent braking in the rear wheels and this is not for road use, but safty is my concern. The wheel cylinder is very close in specs to the LC wheel cylinder. Any thoughts??
Thanks IA and you can enjoy this song and video from the Sahara. YouTube - ‫????? ???????‬‎

Not sure what the pressure and volume the clutch MC generates. Try it and see.

Thanks dgangle,
The clutch master is from a 78 FJ40 .
Some info and pic about the wheel cyl,
DORMAN Part # W9344 {First Stop #1664583, 1669965, 2622919, 3767121, 3779497, 5461525, 75084R91, 920334, TCAA-2262-A}
Bore = 1-1/4"
More input is wellcome.

If you are looking for someone that has done this that report on how it worked...well, judging by the responses other than mine...there are none.

Unless you want to try the shotgun approach, I think you are going to need to know and compare the bores and strokes of all components: the brake MC, the clutch MC, the wheel cylinder and possibly the clutch slave cylinder. Force=Pressure X Area

Just an update,
I tried 2 different brake M cylinders, one from a Neon and another from a BJ60, also I tried the 40 clutch master cylinder. The best result I got from the clutch master cylinder.
So I will be using 2 clutch master cylinders this way I can have a seperate brake for each rear wheel. This will help me turn and apply the brake to a slipping wheel for better traction.
This is all part of my tractor build. I will update the build later with some pics.
For now I will post a drawing of the 2 brake pedals and the bracket that will blot the master cylinders.
I am real glad about getting over this brake modification , it has been somewhat of a challange and time consuming and I almost gave up on it. Now I can move foreward with the build.
Thanks.
