I just bought a brake line double-flare tool just like the millions you can find on Ebay, but can't figure out HOW to use the double-flare die.
I also bought a big 'ol roll of 3/16" brake line to build my lines with, and I can use the flaring tool to make a good SINGLE flare. That's simple and obvious.
Can't I go ahead with single-flare lines, or do I need to double-flare them?
How DOES that double-flare die work? It looks like it has a small mandrel that inserts into the ID of the line, but then the line end butts up against a conical taper in the flare die that LOOKS like it's tapered to CLOSE the end of the line?!
I can't figure it out.
