Hey, gang. I rebuilt the brake cylinder a couple years ago (sat on a shelf and haven't used) and after I got done bleeding all the lines, I noticed that the copper fitting on top of the cylinder had a very slow and tiny leak. I couldn't tighten the nut anymore without dissembling the cylinder. My question is- could I use regular washers to close the gap and put pressure on the crush washer as seen in the photo or is there a reason why with the rebuild kit, the gap is not closed all the way? It currently is grabbing enough thread to tighten, but is bottoming out against the plunger inside cylinder.

I'm pretty sure steel washers won't work. Did you try swapping the locations? Maybe find thicker copper washers or maybe carefully file the bottom of the threaded port to shorten it.

I haven't tried yet. I took the photos, posted on here, and then haven't touched it since. I bought a rebuild kit and that's what I had and tossed the OG parts. I'll keep you posted.

Are the threads on those copper pieces the same as on the reservoir hold-downs?
