Brake booster vacuum port?

I just finished a complete desmog of my '84 60 that came with a Weber. In cleaning up under hood, I spotted a small port coupled to the brake booster vacuum line from the intake manifold (center of pic). I assume that this should be connected somewhere and if so, where? Or with the desmog and the Weber, is it no longer needed and thus should be capped? The desmog went really well but this is a mystery.
Thanks in advance,

Chris

Probably not much help since I'm not desmogged, but mine is connected to the top port on the VSV on the driverside fender. I assume it's not needed with a desmog and can be capped.

Hopefully someone who has done a desmog chimes in.

That port is left over with a desmog. I just put a rubber vacuum plug/cover on mine. It's also a handy spot to get manifold vacuum for vac tests.

That port is for the AC idle up. It is still used if staying with the factory carb after a desmog for kicking up the engine when running AC. It runs to the switching valve on the drivers fender right behind the headlight washer tank. With a Weber, not so much.

A tip about that whole part. Remove it and soak it in carb cleaner or gas. That little side port easily gets clogged with gunk. Mine was packed tight when i first tore down the engine before the rebuild.

Thank's all. I put a cap on it and then thought I would get slightly better brake assist. No luck. I've wondered about my booster since I got this rig so I guess I'm going to test the vacuum.
